Today Mom and I visited friends Deborah, Stephen and their Mom for more Christmas togetherness and to express our happiness that all is well with them now.
On Christmas Day, Deborah had to go to the hospital because of a staph infection that had apparently got into her right elbow. Does this sound familiar? Look at my notes for August where another person got infected and cured of staph. Today I saw Deborah's arm and it seemed much better than she had described. Evidently it had been ruby red on Christmas evening. We are all relieved that she is better.
Later, on our way home I noticed that the gasoline light was glowing a brilliant yellow to remind me that we were almost out of gas. Luckily we made it home to get a gas can with a bit of gasoline remaining. It was just enough to get me to the 24 hour gas station within just 6 miles of my house. Whew! We are so glad to be home after that anxiety. I was really afraid we would have to push the car, um, no, we would call my dear Stephen who lives only about 5 miles away from the house.
I believe that I will keep a closer eye on the tank to be sure to fill it when it reaches only 1/4 full. That also helps prevent a frozen gas line. Just another thing I learned today. Smile.
