Saturday morning watermelon

I'm trying to consume 1/4 watermelon for lunch today because they're delicious and very good for me. I'll have nothing else to eat until dinnertime. Why? Melons of all types should always be eaten alone. The reason is because it transits through the body at such a rapid rate, that eating any other type of food would slow it down and cause more sluggish digestion. An incredible part of the rawtarian lifestyle is the fact that raw foods move quicker through the digestive tract than cooked or processed foods. Why is it that cooked and processed foods are slower? Because raw fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts all still contain the enzymes that are naturally present in the natural form. In cooked and processed foods, however, the enzymes are killed at 106-110 degrees Farenheit. Why are enzymes important? Because they help to decompose food. For example, if you left an apple on the kitchen counter for 2 months, it will have begun to decompose itself. It naturally contains its own self-digesting chemicals. What does this mean to you? How do enzymes help your body? Well, let's think about this for a moment. If you eat something the will help digest itself, even while in your stomach, wouldn't it make sense that it would digest faster and take less effort on the part of your body? How much effort does your body expend digesting cooked and proccessed foods? Studies have shown that the body expends 80% of its energy digesting food, thereby leaving only 20% for activities and functions, like repairing and replacing dead or pre-cancerous cells in your body. Now, consider what you would do if the numbers were turned around. What if your meals digested themselves, and left you with 80% of your energy for activities and for healing or replacing old, sick cells and body structures and organs. With such fast raw food digestion, still, the body manages to collect all the vitamins and minerals, thus, filling the body's needs. Questions and comments are welcome (click below to add yours).
